A Discarded Ladder Turned Bookshelf

Don't cha' just LOVE this picture?
(unknown)
I just loved the rustic feel of it.
When I saw it I knew I wanted to re-create it in our tiny hallway
but the Hubby wouldn't let me use our ladder : ( It was too big.
Anyhoo, while out and about last week,
I found a ladder laying on the side of the road.
Only the front steps were there. Looked like the back support had broke
and they tossed it to the curb. Score for me. It was the perfect size
and VERY pre-loved. So I grabbed it up, and hid it from the Hubby.
I KNEW he would say, what in the .... are you gonna do with that?
I ran to Home Depot (the adults toy store) and picked up
3 "L" brackets and a few wall anchors ran home to put
up my new book shelf.
I LOVE the way it turned out ...

I especially love my vintage finds on here.
I wanted something simple above so I printed these
London maps from The Graphics Fairy
LOVE it and the Hubby thinks it looks cool. AWESOME-NESS !!!

Wow, that looks great. And you gained lots of storage space too. I'll have to be on the lookout for more things beside the road when I'm driving.

Deanna, what a great way to use and repurpose that old ladder. We have one that will need to be repurposed some day. Great idea and thanks for joining the party.

I love this. I have a small step ladder that might work for something like this as well. I have been wondering what to do with it. Thanks for the inspiration.

Love this ladder shelf! I've been wanting to do a wall of bookshelves on the very cheap and maybe this is the route to take. Now to find some ladders.
