I'm a bad blogger, a bad bad blogger ...
I forgot to take before pictures of my daughter's bedroom : (
Now that it's done, I wish I had.
I DID however take some before pictures
of the items I refinished : )
Her room went from Hello Kitty Pink
(and I mean PINK) with 1 white wall
and a mod-podge of furniture.
NOTHING matched.
Let's take a look shall we?
(A lil' photo heavy - sorry but it's darn pretty)
I started with her door ....
Then ...
Imagine the wall the bed is on was HK Pink, the bed was black
and ALL the her bedding was Princess's with frogs.
Now her bed is a soft Cream thanks to
Krylon's Satin Ivory.
I made these pillows from baby blankets.
The shelf above the bed is from Pottery Barn that I found at Goodwill
I like that it was the perfect color
Remember this lil' table I rescued off Craigslist?
You can read about that here
I painted the picture and got the print from Graphics Fairy
An adorable tassel I made for her ...
The mirror looks so much better in Ivory
here's the before
A simple peg board I covered with left over fabric that matched her bedding
I made the tacks by hot gluing flowers on flat head tacks.
This is her dirty laundry hamper
I love her desk. Here's it is before, not eye candy ...
And now ... CANDY !!!
The chalkboard "use to be" a mirror
And then there's her bookcase. Which looked like this ...
Now looks like this ... Doesn't even look like the same bookcase, huh?
I made this little sign ... thought it was perfect for her
Thanks so much for indulging in my home's eye candy

Gorgeous!!! I love it!!
The room turned out beautiful!
What a lucky little girl having such a talented mommy. I have the same little lamp hanging on my daughters vintage iron bed, she reads with it every night. The little monkey wants to change her room to MoDeRn BrIgHt CrAzInEsS and is breaking her mama's heart :o( She's very fickle so I hope she changes her mind before we actually get around to it, lol!

I love, love, love the idea of making pillows out of baby blankets! I have SO many baby blankets are that just to special to part with, but yet they remain in a chest or the closet because my "babies" are older now (some of them!) and I just think that making pillows out of them is the best idea ever. Thanks for sharing:)
(visiting from Serenity Now)
Wow! It is delightful! What a lucky girl! You really worked hard on this!

Deanna, you weren't kidding when you mentioned eye candy!!! This is an excellent room transformation. :) I love the bed in white, and I had instant inspiration when you mentioned you made pillows out of baby blankets. Such a beautiful room. :)
