A Pottery Barn Inspired Pizza Board for $0.25

How much do you love Pottery Barn?
I don't just love Pottery Barn, I ADORE Pottery Barn
But, I don't adore their prices
When I saw this picture in their catalog I knew I would have to
try and find a paddle of my own
So, while I was out garage-salin a few months ago I found this for $0.25
Although I think it's thicker than the Pottery Barn one, it's so similar
I wanted mine to have something special though so I
headed over to Graphics Fairy to find the perfect picture
After I printed it out, I colored the back of it with a pencil
then traced it onto the my board (great cheaters way to make a sign)

After I colored it in with my Elmer's Painter Pen in Black
To finish it off, I wanted it to look a lil' more antiqued so I
took some stain (can't remember the color) and just went over it
Now it sits here in my new kitchen ...
Not too shabby for $.025
Thank you to pictrix for reminding me about this project : )

I love this! I think it looks nicer than the pottery barn one. Thank you for taking the time to show us how to do it. I have been wanting to make a sign, but I wasn't sure how to before. Thanks again.

Oooohhhh, LOVE this!! Could you please expand a little on your method? You mentioned that you "coloured the back with a pencil," then traced it onto your board. Do you mean you coloured the entire printed piece? Hmmm...just can't get my wee brain 'round this...LOVE the final result!!

It's way cuter than the pottery barn one! The lettering is so perfect. I love it! I need a new cutting board myself. Now I'll be on the lookout for one at a garage sale myself.

Hello! Please, i didn't understand the part " After I printed it out, I colored the back of it with a pencil

I love this simple yet elegant board! I think the author meant that she took a regular pencil and scratched lines crosswise on the back of the print out. Then when you trace on the right side of the print out, the image transfers to the surface (board). The pencil scraches on the back basically acts like graphite paper (you could use graphite paper to transfer the image to a surface if you prefer that method). Well, if I am wrong, my apologies in advance!

I love this project. I wonder...can you still use your pizza board in the oven? I want to give this as a gift for someone who makes a lot of pizza's.
