Going Postale ...

Hey ya'all, how's your summer going?
Mine? Well, when you're trying to entertain an 8yr old...
FUN!!!
It seems though that my projects have kinda
taken the back seat to the beach, pool and anything else summer.
I haven't even been junking for 3 weeks.
 Shocking right?
Actually in Florida this time of the year, garage salin'
and junkin is hard. Well, with the heat and the rain
 it's a hit or miss.
Today though, I wanted to finish a project that has been in
my to-do pile for about a month.
I picked up this at a thrift store for $2.50.
I have come to the conclusion that it's some sort of feed/grain scooper.
But, I see it as a mail/ key holder to go by my front door.
So, with a little paint, sanding, a graphic from
Graphics Fairy using my technique shown
here and some glaze it was transformed into ...

It's perfect : )

I'm partying at:

I love it! I think it is great you are spending time with the 8 year old-sometimes we forget how to incorporate play in our daily life.

What a great idea, but how do you transfer the graphic to wood? I love how you repurposed the piece into something so useful. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, what a transformation! I really love how you painted and distressed it. Don't you love those projects that aren't just great looking, but are functional too?!

Very pretty transformation. Your item might be for collecting cranberries from a bog.

It is perfect, Deanna! What a great use for this piece. I like when I can find something that was meant to be something else at the thrift store and I can adapt it to what I need it to be.

visiting from WUW! : )
