From a Canvas to a Sign

Another pre-surgery project

Valentine's Day marked my 13th wedding anniversary
and I wanted to make something special for The Hubby.
I had been saving this canvas and frame for a special project,
what's more special than an anniversary gift?
I found this saying and knew exactly what I wanted to create
So I started by spray painting the canvas black,
printing out the saying and then using white carbon paper
to copy it onto the canvas

Best News

Today I went for my post op appointment.

 Best News  ...
 I'M CANCER FREE !!!
Which means, NO radiation OR chemo.
 I started crying.

I still can't lift anything for a month
and I'm still VERY weak
but I think no cancer is a fair trade off : )

Thank you SO much for all the love and support you guys sent to me.
I would read your comments when I would feel down and they always made me feel better.
I truly could never thank you enough : )

From Black to White

This is yet another project I did before my surgery.

Last year sometime, I picked this dresser up at
Goodwill to use as an entertainment center.
 I think I paid $40 for it.
You can almost see the paint sticks I used under my coke crate and DVD/cable box, lol.
Hard to believe I lived with it like that for a year.
Isn't it just perfect?
If you answered yes, we need to talk : )
Anyhoo, I decided that it can be black no longer.
So, I started by cleaning it with TSP then priming it with my new love,
I didn't really feel like sanding it.
Then I painted it with 3 coats of
I added 3 pieces of wood, painted black, inside the top openings
and painted the drawer pulls black.
And Ta Da .... PERFECTION

A Pretty Chair Make-Over and a Journey Update

This is a project I did pre-surgery ... ENJOY : )
When I saw this chair at a garage sale I knew I had to pick it up
especially since the price tag was only $5
Great bones, but the fabric ... eh.
So the first thing I did was remove all the fabric.
ALL the fabric. Not an easy job.
Then came a lil bit of primer.
(I did this on the patio so pic came out dark a lil blurry - sorry bout' that)
I'm currently LOVING
Oh, side note ... did ya know that you can buy
 Rustoleum's Heirloom White in quart?
I couldn't believe when I found A can (1 can only)
at my Home Depot store. BUT, I found out that I can have it
color matched in Behr. I will be posting the formula when I get to it.
I decided that this chair would be my first victim to try the new paint.
Paint review - VERY thin. Had to do 3 coats to get a good cover.
I think it NEEDS to be color matched.
I have tried it in spray form too, much better in spray but I like the idea
of having it in brush form.
After a lil destressing .... SO cute.
