I'm Breaking the Cardinal Rule

I feel so bad for my dining room table.
Every time I'm cleaning, re-decorating or having a garage sale
 it looks like this ...
Even my coffee table gets stuff put on it.
Craziness right?
I finally have everything moved out to the garage
I'm going to be breaking the garage sale cardinal rule ...
I'm not gonna be pricing anything.
I'm exhausted.
There are certain things that will have a set price
But only I know what that is, lol.
I have an excuse, I just had major surgery.
That's right, I'm playing that card, lol.
I hope it all goes.
Wish me luck : )
What's your weekend look like?

Meet Milton and a Kitchen Update

Meet Milton.
This big guy was sitting next to our mailbox and
shocked The Hubby, he thought he was a rock until he moved.
He's a Florida Gopher Turtle.
We figure he's probably about 25-30 years old.
Our house is a HUGE turtle loving house.
We held him in our garage till Kricket got home from school
then we took him out to the backyard.

Kricket hopes he doesn't get away but we keep telling her, it's his choice.
I also wanted to share with you the progress in our kitchen.
I've gotten all the tile on the backsplash off.
I've decided instead of doing beadboard I'm going to
texture the wall to match the rest of the kitchen.
I used joint compound which is what I used on the rest of the kitchen.
  Now onto painting : )
Slowly but surely it's coming along : )

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on it's Way

Howdy ya'all.
I hope everyone had a great week and you're ready for the weekend.
Since I'm FINALLY feeling like my ol' self,
I wanted to give ya a taste of spring that has sprung up around my home.
But first, I wanted to share with ya a lil' makeover on a
bowl thingy (I have NO idea what these are called)
that I picked up at a garage sale last year for $.25.
Here it is before ...
I thought I could just pick out all the glue ... Nope.
But I liked the look of it and I knew I was just gonna fill it so I just painted over it.
After priming, painting and glazing it, it's ready to be filled.
For Easter I decided to fill it with some moss and a pair of bunnies I found
at a garage sale for $3
So cute. My daughter named them Zoe & Fred
Onto the decorating : )
Sorry this picture is so dark. We'll take a closer look

This is a brand new Pier One $50 speckled egg wreath I picked up at Goodwill for $7.99
(still in it's box - SCORE)
Our mantel ... not really Easter-y but very spring-y
 Ohhh, kinda blurry .... sorry : (
The lil table next to the fireplace
I especially love Mr. Bunny. He's wearing his black tie, lol
A $1 birdie from Michael's sit atop eggs also from Michael's
A $.59 Goodwill nest sitting ontop my vintage-fied books filled with yet more eggs
I also decided to dress up my vintage trunk

 Then lastly, my coffee table.
Notice the bunny? He was picked up for $.50 at a garage sale.
He was originally metallic pink. PINK!!!
I just sprayed him with a dark brown spray paint and he now looks like a
chocolate bunny. He now SCREAMS Easter : )

We have a REAL Easter bunny that lives in our yard.
Everytime we see him, we tell our daughter that he's trying to figure out where to hide her basket.
I hope everyone has a Happy Spring.
