What an Honor ...

Ever do something and wonder if what
your doing makes a difference?
Me, well ... I feel like that ALL the time.
Ya see, I started my lil' blog a year ago
because at the time, I was making videos for my
YouTube channel and I wanted another outlet
 for my makeup reviews.
Well, my lil' blog quickly changed to
decorating, crafts I had created & furniture I had refinished.
I learned that this lil' blog became something
I REALLY enjoyed doing.
About 2 weeks ago I was honored to receive
 award from Uncluttered Lifestyle.
I had never heard of it and then today I was honored
again from 1 Funky Woman.
So today I finally sat down to read what the award was all about.
 Here's the down low ...
A Versatile Blogger is one who.........
1) Provides variety in his or her posts
 2) Entertains, informs, inspires and intrigues readers
 3) Continues to grow as a blogger

So the rules are simple in receiving this award.
Rule 1) Thank the Blogger who awarded you this great honor
and make sure others can get to his or her site!
Rule 2) List 7 to 10 secrets about yourself
Rule 3) Award this to 10 - 15 worthy bloggers!

I have to say, I was shocked because I remember

telling a fellow blogger that I'm gonna do
my blog for me even if I never have anyone follow me.
I'm surprised everytime there's a new follower.
I'm thankful for the friendships I have made
 with my followers.
So, I must follow the rules, since that's who I am.
I want to thank Iesha & Megan for
honoring me with this award.
I can't believe you guys love what I do.
The secrets about me? Well, I don't really have secrets
but here's what I got:
1) I sucked my thumb till I was 34.
I quit when I got pregnant with my daughter
2) I'm DEATHLY afraid of frogs, yes frogs and spiders
3) I still dream of being a storm chaser. Crazy right?
 4) If George Clooney, Dave Matthews, Nick Swisher or
Tyler Florence showed up at my door
and asked me to go with him, I would SO go
(NOT A SECRET IN MY HOUSE, LOL)
5) I know every line to Billy Madison
6) I would rather do horror makeup than beauty makeup any day
7) I had a dream of my youngest daughter
before I knew I was pregnant

Now, I get the honor of passing this award onto
a few people that I enjoy
and whom I believe are worthy of this award...
as we all are!
5)  Kathleen from Ruffles and Mudpies
6) Stephanie from Junker Newbie
7) Dawn from Wacky Whimsy
8) Cindy from Le Chaise Parfait
9) The Northern Cottage
and lastly
10) Kate from Salvage Dior

If you haven't heard, been to or followed these amazingly talented
woman, you should do so NOW. Each one of these woman's
blogs inspire me daily. That is why I'm happy to pass this
award onto them.

Happy Memorial Day Ya'all : )

Ya Want S'More?

If your anything like my family, we use any excuse we can to
be able to make s'mores.
At Christmas, when we have fires in our fireplace,
the first thing out of Kricket's mouth is,
 "Can we make s'mores?"
Welp, last week I was able to stack some MAJOR coupons
for all the goodies to make s'mores.
Of course, when Kaley saw everything she asked,
 "Are we making s'mores?"
I wasn't about to get the fireplace going
so we decided to make them in the oven.
Lettme' show ya how we did it ...
we gathered our goodies
Set the broiler on low
Break graham cracker in half and top with marshmallows
and place under broiler CAREFULLY
**NOTE ~ I would put on a cookie sheet
I dropped about 4 marshmallows to die at the bottom of my oven : (
Leave under broiler till the marshmallows start to golden
Remove and put on plate
Top with 1/2 of a Hershey's bar then remainder graham craker
 Smoosh together ... EAT
 Enjoy ... YUM Summer : )

From Wicker to Metal

Today while cruising around Goodwill
I found this lil' wicker basket
Although I liked the handles, I didn't care for the wicker
It had a very sturdy metal frame so
why not take the wicker off and
cover it with hardware cloth?
I started by cutting off all the sides then handles
Then I cut a piece of hardware cloth for the bottom
and using needle-nose pliers wrapped the cloth around the sides
Then I cut 4 pieces for the remaining sides
wrapping each side 1 at a time
 Oh so cute, no?

Saturday's Thrifty Finds

Howdy you guys.
 How's your week coming along?
I wanted to share with you guys some of the goodies I found this past Saturday.
First I'll start with my garage sale finds.
I spent $16.75
I picked up the first 3 things at 1 sale.
Bookcase $2. I think it will adorable Heirloom White. What do you think?
Vintage trunk $4
 A set of 8 retro glasses $3
Right next to this sale I found these 4 glasses. They matched
the 8 I just bought perfectly.
I found the silver box they're sitting on for free.
Then I found this lil' frame for $0.50
This shelf and planter were picked up for $3
One of my favorite things I found was this glass drink dispenser for $1
I can see it filled with lemonade this summer.
Lastly, I found this beautiful runner for $0.25
Then after the garage sales, I went to Goodwill and I found ...
All for $21.99
I also picked this up this lil' library table but I had already put stuff on it.
I really wanted you to see it though.
The finish on it is "as is". It's perfect.
It holds all my vintage books.
It was a GOOD day and inexpensive (my favorite)

**Note - I think I might start a Saturday's Thrifty Finds weekly post.
What do ya think? Wanna see what I find weekly?
Let me know : )

How I Make My Signs

Last week I posted a few projects like this

and this

And so many of you guys wanted to know just how to do it
so I thought I would show ya
I tried to find something at a garage sale that needed some beauty but couldn't
Instead, I thought I'd show ya how to make a sign, same technique
I first found a board at Home Depot for $0.51
I then painted it with Martha Stewart's paint in Fossil
I decided that I wanted it to look like an aged sign but
I wanted it to match my kitchen so I went
over Fossil with Duck's Egg and Milk Pail

Making Art Supplies Purdy

Ya ever work on something that you just adore when you finish it?
Welp, I picked up this lil' stationary caddy Saturday at Goodwill for $1.99
Although it was ok like this, I thought it might look better
fru fru'ed up. I started by scrapping off the decoupaged flowers
After some light sanding, I painted it with Martha Stewart's Duck's Egg
(1 of my new favorite colors)
Some sanding of the edges ...
And a lil' Ralph Lauren's glace in Tobacco ...
And she's ready for my Kricket's desk
 So purdy : )
