Hiya guys ...
I've been working on our new office space and today I finally finished the desk.
I bought this 1960's desk at Goodwill about 4 years ago to use as my makeup table.
I hated the finish on it and wanted to refinish it but never got around to it.
Because the drawers are so big it worked wonderfully until I decided that I wanted to scale down my makeup collection. After everything was gotten rid of, I was left with ALL this space so I thought that it would make a better desk for The Hubby. He was using a desk that would actually be designed for a kid and since he's a computer tech (notice ALL the cords?), I thought he might appreciate a bigger work space. So he moved in but it made me hate it more. How can a man pile SO much in one spot, even with HUGE drawers?
Well, after some sanding, priming, a few coats of paint, glaze and wax
I think it looks SO much better.
I added a wooden applique on the center drawer and it looks so much better.
The pulls were bought at the Restore for $.29 a piece. I just spray painted them.
Not sure if they're completely straight but I think they'll have to do for now.
Now to let the wax harden for a few days before The Hubby piles on his toys.
He BETTER learn to use the drawers !!!!

I love--come party at my place--off to explore more :)!
I really like this desk! Nice job! Good luck with that "hubby learning to use the drawers" thing. Mine thinks any flat surface in the house is a place to set stuff!!
great transformation! Love it!
So much better 'after'! Well done! Thanks for sharing on Show Off Saturday!
XO
