Howdy guys ...
Hope you're having a wonderful holiday.
I went out yesterday and tried my hardest to junk but with it being a holiday weekend, there didn't seem to be too many sales. I actually drove around for an hour before I saw my first garage sale. I was able to go to a couple estate sales and a couple garage sales as well as my favorite antique mall where a seller was closing her booth and everything was 60% off.
Here's what I bought ...
Here's what I bought ...
Not alot I know but still some cute stuff.
First at an estate sale I found this feather down pillow, a set of sweet curtains and a vintage napkin
$5 for all of it
At Goodwill I found this cool wire basket with 3 flower pots. Stamped with "G.Wollf & Co." and an adorable pair of rusty scissors and this almond oil jar. Both for $4
Then I stumbled on a garage sale where I found this awesome crate. She wouldn't take anything less than $5 but it's a beautiful crate so it came home with me
I put my new $5 geraniums that I picked up at the swap meet inside.
They're soooo pretty
At the next garage sale I found this army laundry bag for $1. I'm thinking the guy had just got out of the service because he was getting rid of all his camo clothes, hats and bags.
I really love the color and how worn the bag is.
His name and number are on it too which I think honors him in some weird way
On my way home, I stopped by my favorite antique mall where I found a great sale.
For $11 I picked up this cool wire basket and this dish with a lid
whose color matches my kitchen perfectly
Not too shabby.
After my day of junkin' I headed with my best friend over the
Skyway Bridge to Tropicana Field to see the New York Yankees play.
Don't cha' love the pelican flying next to our car?
Bret Gardner and Derek Jeter warming up with the team
Derek Jeter taken by my iPhone with close up zoom.
He's such a professional and so much fun to watch
The best thing to eat, in my opinion, at the Trop are the garlic fries and a cold beer
Yankees, baseball, garlic fries & a beer definitely puts a smile on my face
It was a GOOD day.
How was yours?

Definitely great finds! I'd have to say, finding Derek Jeter and The Yankees at the end of the day is my favorite part!!
You found some super treasures. Love the crate and the iron piece, how super are they. The ballgame sounds like a ton of fun and fries and beer are perfect. Hugs, marty
great finds deanna! I LOVE the crate... I would have paid $5 for it too.
great pics of the game, too. Sounds like you've been having fun.
I had intentions of going thrifting yesterday (saturday) but I slept in and then started working on projects. :)
I hope you had a happy Easter with your family!

Love the crate also. And the wire basket... Great picture of you as well. Happy Easter.
Good finds. I don't know but you sounded a bit stressed that the garage sale wouldn't sell the crate for less than $5. Please! its totally worth it why haggle if its worth it.
What great finds. I will forgive the fact that you are a Yankee fan I am a huge Mets Fan!!! LOL
HI, Deanna
I love it! Yankee's are my team, always went to Yankee stadium as a kid and love watching them here in Florida now. The fries are yummy too!
