Pimpin' Out Kricket's Backpack

Howdy guys, how ya been?

My house is getting back to normal after the past week with the threat of Tropical Storm Isaac

Thank goodness it scooted up the coast and stayed far out in the the gulf

We DID get ALOT of rain and wind

I actually got to run durning an hour when 

it wasn't raining but the wind was ridiculous.

I think I burned a million more calories

Anywhoo, with school starting around the country

(it's been back in gear here for a week already), 

I thought I would share with you how I pimped out Kricket's backpack

I try to buy her a backpack that's gonna last her a couple years but that usually means that she doesn't get a backpack that's cool like the other kids

This year I told her to just pick a color and we would "pimp it out"

 We found her a Swiss Gear backpack at Sam's for $20

 Then we headed to Michael's with a bunch of 40% coupons in hand where Kricket

 picked some decals she liked as well as some rhinestones

 I started by adding her name. Just followed the directions and ironed them on

 Next, she wanted to cover up the metal Swiss Gear emblem (I don't blame her)

so she picked a heart and now ... no more emblem

 She then chose which other decals she wanted to add

Then I added the rhinestones. They have the kind of backs that have to be bent so they stay nice and secure. I made sure that there were no "backs" that could poke her

 SO cute, right?

 It needed a little more and viola, it's done

Now she has a personalized backpack that she can be proud of

for very little money

The fun part is she can add more decals as the year goes on

: )
