Happy happy Monday ...
Did you watch the Emmy's last night?
We actually forgot about it until around 9 when we turned it on
We actually forgot about it until around 9 when we turned it on
I was so thrilled to see that Homeland won so many awards
but I DO wish The Walking Dead had won more ...
Last week, I had posted on my Facebook page a lampshade that I had re-styled
and was asked if I could put the directions up on how I did it
So here goes ...
While cruising around Pinterest a couple weeks ago I stumbled on this amazing French script lampshade from The Concrete Cottage that I just fell in love with
I kept a lookout for the perfect shade and was able to find
2 of the exact style at Goodwill for $2.99
I figured that if I messed one up, I would have a backup
Anyhoo, I followed Jeannine's directions and copied a handful of graphics from
The Graphics Fairy as well as some from Google by searching
"French script" and "French script graphic"
I just taped them, one by one, inside the shade with the light on
(I used a 60watt bulb) and traced everything with a thin lined Sharpie
I decided to keep it simple and I LOVE how it turned out
No more plain shade here
; )
**Note - All the tracing only took my about an hour and forty-five minutes
Not too shabby for an amazing piece **

That came out beautifully! I'm curious as to how long it took. Very nicely done!

So pretty a lampshade, Deanna--I am going to have to try this at some point! Been looking for a lampshade for our bedroom, and this might work nicely!
SIMPLE??? That "F" in France alone would have put me over the edge, but it looks like it was totally worth it! LOOOOOVE it!
LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing at the All Star Block Party.

Your shade turned out so lovely! I would have thought it would take a lot longer. You must have a very steady hand. What a wonderful job! I just love it!

Your lampshade is so lovely! It's amazing to me that it didn't really take very long. You must have a very steady hand. Turned out fabulous! I just love it! I'm now a follower through GFC.
What a nifty idea! It's really no worse than coloring in a coloring book, right...? lol! Your shade turned out beautifully! :)

Wow Deanna! I love the graphics you chose for your lamp shade. Great price, and you did a fabulous job. With my shoulder the way it is, I could never do this. :(
Hopefully someday it will be well again.
