A Lil' Bit of Architecture

Howdy guys, how's your week coming along?

I wanted to say thank you to everyone helped with try to figure out what I should do with the

piece I had placed over my tv. So many of you guys recommended that I move it up and

 darken the color. I agree on the color but for some reason I just didn't think it looked right.

 So, I moved it. Like I had said in the previous post, I had originally thought I would hang it over

the hallway into my bedroom. I think it looks MUCH better. The color though will be darkened.

While we're peeking into my bedroom, I want to show ya something else I did.

Remember when I showed you guys my bedroom a couple of posts ago?

I didn't show ya the wall across from my bed for a reason. Nothing was on it, lol.

Does this look right?

I picked this piece up yesterday at Goodwill for $4.99 thinking it would look

good above the hallway into our bedroom.

But, after looking at it for awhile, I thought I would hang it above my tv.

What do you think? Maybe it needs to be painted / glazed?

(It IS centered by the way. Just looks not centered)

How you been? I had to take a lil' hiatus last week. I was in babysitting mode.

Lil' Leo is now 4 weeks old. 1 month. 31 days ... already.

I'm so thankful for all the features on my Burlap Covered Chair.
It's fun to see how many people liked it as much as I do.

I also wanted you to know that I haven't been able to get to my emails

 so I haven't been able to answer everyone back.

I have been in babysitting mode all week trying to give my daughter some much needed rest

but I wanted you to know that your sweet comments mean SO much to me.

vintage metal chicken feeder that I picked up for $5?

Well, I knew it would make an awesome light.

Howdy ya'all ...

How's your weekend coming along?

Mine's coming along nicely.

Baby Leo has become such a wonderful addition to our home

He had to go back into the hospital with my daughter for a few days due to jaundice

but he's doing great now

Sucha' sweet lil boy

Do you believe in signs?

I don't mean like "stop" signs, but signs from the Universe (or God depending on your belief)

I had a few (right in a row) yesterday and 

I'm thankful that I was aware enough to notice them.

While out junkin' I found this KILLER metal shelf at a thrift store (pictures later in the post)

and on the underneath corner I spied an butterfly hanging onto a cocoon. It had just hatched.

A beautiful Monarch.

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures. I had left my camera in the car. Bad Zoot.

I was worried to move to quickly. I held it for a good 5 minutes.

The owner of the shop even came over to see what it was that was holding my attention.

He said that it had to mean something. There had to be some kind of a sign.

I found a bush to put it on then sat and watched it for another few moments.

I paid for the shelf and left.

While on the way home I stopped at a antique mall that I had past
NUMEROUS times but had never been in.

When I walked threw the doors I hear, "Hi, Deanna".

I look up and there sits this woman that I had met over a year ago while shopping at Goodwill.

We had seen each other that same morning. Here she's the owner of the mall.

A 4000sq. foot mall. REALLY sha-weet goodies. I bought a few things.

Then she says, "Hey, don't you have a booth somewhere? Where are you selling your stuff?"

"Ummm, no. I'm selling my stuff at my garage sales every 6 months.

 I get asked all the time if I have a store. I would eventually love to though."

She then says, "Well, if you want a small booth with VERY low rent I could help ya out. It would be in the back but I could give ya a great price."

I said thank you paid for my goodies and left.

HUGE HUGE sign, right?

Someone upstairs is telling me something.

So, needless to say I may have my own booth soon ..... YAY !!!!

Time to make a change

Just like everything in my house, nothing and I do stress NOTHING

stays the same in my home.

There was some sort of inner cry within me to change my bedroom.
To make it more simple. Clean. Serene. Quiet.

A retreat if you will.

So, I have been searching my inner quiet place and asking it just what it needed.
This is where it's at so far ...

Howdy ya'all ...

The last 3 days have been so exciting.

 Lil' Baby Leo came home on Saturday.

It's so weird to have a baby in the house again.

 He's such a good baby. He sleep a lot : )

Mommy is doing really well.

I'm so proud of her.

I was able to go junkin' this past Saturday though

(I went before I had to pick my daughter and Leo up from the hospital - priorities, lol)

Leo Ross Carey

My grandson was born at 1:41am March 2, 2012. Weighing in at 7lbs 4ounces and he's 20" long.

My amazing daughter had a completely natural child birth, no epidural 

(seems the woman in our family has a high pain level).

She did SO great.

 

Mommy and baby are doing great.

 

A new family is born : )
